May is Lupus Awareness month and this is our opportunity to advocate for Lupus. My Lupus Foundation is dedicated to spreading Lupus Awareness through education, support, and LOVE cause every day over 2 million Americans are living with Lupus. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and tissue damage to virtually every organ in the body. Unfortunately, two out of three Americans know little or nothing about Lupus and its symptoms. The annual average cost to provide medical treatment for a person with lupus can range from $6,000 to $10,000, with some treatment costing several thousand dollars a month. While raising funds for MY LUPUS FOUNDATION, we will dispel myths about lupus, share stories of its impact and have fun while doing it. The funds will be used to help our local community in different area of their lives. My LUPUS FOUNDATION, strives to help those who live with Lupus and/or other chronic illnesses to live "their best lives" by not solely focusing on the negative aspect of their illness but lifting up and empowering the positives, en ouraging them to do things that they may have wanted to od.
