United Way of Abilene is thrilled to bring Imagination Library to children 0-5 years of age in Taylor County. Join us to celebrate the launch of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library! We believe that early literacy is important to the success of a child and Imagination Library will be an instrumental tool in providing literary opportunities during vital years of development. The time you spend reading with your child opens their mind to faraway places, exciting adventures and sets them on the pathway to an interest in lifelong learning. Read to your child- it’s a wise investment in their future and the future of our community. Who can participate? With the help of generous donors and established partners, United Way Abilene was able to launch this program in Taylor County in certain zip codes. How does it work? All children whose parent or guardian enroll them in the program will receive a free book in the mail each month until their fifth birthday.
