Description

Facilitated by Hugh A. Rose - 4 Saturdays,  June 3 - 24; 10 am - 12 noon “If we had any idea of what it meant, Acting would be one of the highest professions.” - John G. Bennett Acting was certainly one of the first professions, as traveling tradespeople went from village to village, singing the songs and telling the stories from the places they’d been. In fact they were the first News Casters. So public speaking became storytelling, became history, became religious pageantry, became plays, became acting. But why is acting one of the highest professions? Because acting is about portraying the Soul and the Ego of Men and Women and how that might be instructive for us all.  As Shakespeare tells us in As You Like It: “All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.” Merely, in the precise archaic Elizabethan meaning of the word: “And all the men and women nothing other than players.” So, if that’s what we are, how do we prepare for a job where we reveal the interplay of the soul and the ego--that is to say on the stage of life itself? Please join us for four Saturday mornings in June to examine what’s involved. Priceless Pricing: We want to dwell in the paradox of making classes accessible for everyone while maintaining the fiscal integrity of our Center.  We invite you to ask your heart to guide you to the right amount to pay for this class.  Some will pay a little more, some a little less.  No exchange is too large or too small.  Our combined gifts converge in the currency of compassion to awaken us to enduring good for all. In other words - No upfront fees - just sign up and commit to coming to class.  Gift this class to yourself. Donate in the last class - any amount up to infinity.
