Dr. Seiko S. Min was appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene in 2018 and currently serves as the director of the Preceptor Periodontics Program at the UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston. Dr. Min trained in periodontics and implant therapy in Japan and the U.S. He earned a doctorate in bone biology at Nihon University, Tokyo in 2009, and completed the Advanced Periodontology and Implantology Residency Program at University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 2014. Dr. Min has received prestigious awards from the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and Osteology Foundation. He has published many scientific peer reviewed papers and is an internationally renowned lecturer, best known for his work in the field of oral plastic surgery, “Gum Recession Therapy” utilizing innovative approach. Dr Min’s research focus is tissue engineering, as well as clinical research, including soft tissue graft, bone graft, and regenerative therapies in periodontics and implant dentistry.
