We will start off the "Make and Take" Shiitake Log inoculation workshop by learning mushroom basics. What they are, how they grow, where to grow them best and how they are a healthy food source to incorporate into your diet. Shannon Phillips, of Winding Brook Farms, will guide you through the process. Please bring a charged or corded drill from home with a 5/16th bit plus a hammer to facilitate with the completion of the inoculation. Everything else will be provided for you: spawn plugs, seasoned logs, wax for sealing and directions. After creating the logs, you will be given a tour of our cozy farm including the mushroom teaching path.
