Description

Join us for a doggie play date at 11:00 AM. We will be meeting at the Clayton Dog Park on Marsh Creek Road in Clayton to enjoy like-minded company with our beloved canine companions. Even if you don't have a dog, please join us and enjoy all that this park has to offer. This will be a casual meeting and an opportunity to ask questions of two of our members, Dr. Tina Herter, Holistic Veterinarian and Kevin Selby, local pet sitter/walker. Around noon we can eat lunch in the dog park or at a picnic table in a grassy area near the parking lot. Bring your own sack lunch, water, dog treats, maybe a folding chair or blanket to sit on, a hat and as always dress in layers to be prepared for the weather. Parking is limited so carpooling is suggested. After lunch, we will take off on one of the parks near-by hiking trails, dogs welcome on a leash. Our special guest's background: Born and raised in Germany, Dr. Bettina "Tina" Herter studied and received her veterinary medicine degree in Berlin. Dr. Herter has worked in small and large animal practices and a small animal emergency hospital in Germany and England prior to obtaining her U.S. veterinary license in 2007. She also gained experience in India at a charity dedicated to improving the lives of injured stray animals and to rehabilitating wildlife. It was natural to gravitate toward working in a holistic practice, and learning about various holistic healing modalities has become her passion. She has studied homeopathic medicine, is trained in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the Chi Institute and the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapy. Nutrition is also a big interest of hers, which she continues to study at Standard Process. Currently she is a TA/DVM at Creature Comfort Veterinary Holistic Center. She and her husband and their young daughter live with their two dogs, two one-eyed cats, and ten chickens. Kevin Selby, pet sitter. Kevin's Pet Sitting has been in business since 2003 and has been taking care of a variety of animals. Service areas covered include Alamo, Danville and San Ramon. I usually try to fulfill a client's wishes the best of my abilities, sometimes also does gardening or light housekeeping if required.
