Prenatal Yoga
Instructional techniques on breathing, meditation, relaxation and physical postures/movement to help you manage the discomforts of pregnancy as well as prepare you for the challenges of childbirth (and beyond). The classes are guided by a yoga teacher who is also a registered nurse with a history of working with mothers and babies for nearly 2 decades. Labor support person is welcome to attend, but not required (and does not need a ticket/reservation). Classes are 1 hour in duration.
What to bring: a mat, water, pillows, blanket(s) for positioning, and any yoga props (strap, bolster, block) that you like to use. These will not be provided.
What to wear: comfortable clothes that allow movement.
No previous yoga experience is necessary to attend these classes. They are beginner friendly.
Please consult with your healthcare provider before starting any exercise program during pregnancy including yoga.
Where: Northwest Medical Center - Bentonville. First floor in Classrooms A & B, across from the cafeteria.
NOTE: Please use the Emergency Department entrance for class as the main entrance is closed after 5pm.
