Put those boots on and come celebrate Day #3 of 100 years of Hank Williams. The Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery presents the day #3 celebration of Hank Williams' birth on Sept. 17, 2023. The show will be held at the Davis Theater starting at 2 pm. Doors open at 1 pm. Special guest star Gene Watson, with Jason Petty, Zachariah Malachi and the Nashville Counts. Join in for this historical event as we solute the most iconic Alabamian in country music, Hank Williams. Gene Watson, Grand Ole Opry Member is a favorite among country singers who have named him "The Singer's Singer". He sings traditional country music in a way that people can relate to. Gene Watson has over 72 charted songs, 34 studio albums, 23 top tens, and 6 #1 hits over his sixty-year career. A few of his hits include "Love in the Hot Afternoon," "Fourteen Carat Mind," "Paper Roses," "Farewell Party," and "Nothing Sure Looked Good On You." Gene says "Each song is very personal to me and I always want the people listening to feel the emotion. Each song has a special meaning to me or I wouldn't record it." Jason Petty is an actor, singer, songwriter, director, and playwright. Jason believes in the integrity of the music and of the story. September 17, Jason will bring Hank Williams' music and story alive in his one-man show called "The Lonesome Sound". He says, "I treat the stage like my front porch, so let's all gather 'round and do some singing and storytelling". Zachariah Malachi , Singer, songwriter, and actor, is the ambitious new kid on the block. He has been pursuing music full-time since 2019 when he moved in with the Jim Ed Brown family in Nashville. He had his first record "Local Bar Opry Star" produced by Grand Ole Opry band leader, the late Jimmy Capps. Give him a listen, I think you'll like what you hear. Also, Zachariah was cast in the movie, George & Tammy as Charlie Justice, the fiddle player in George's Band. **Tickets are sold separately for the event below.
