Description

In this two class series, participants will learn natural farming practices from the Indigenous Americas and Africa and how they can be implemented here to combat environmental retribution. I.e. floating gardens and agroforestry. This class will be fairly detailed so please bring a notebook! Learn more about your educator, Keely: Keely, a New Orleans native, came by environmental stewardship through garden therapy. Keely's childhood community garden was confirmed heavily contaminated with lead and other toxic elements. This led Keely, lead gardener, to research cost effective ways to remediate and generate soil using natural farming techniques. The increasing impact of geography and climate in New Orleans spurred Keely to work, educate, and help make small interventions to create big change.
