Throughout May and June, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) is bringing communities together through Take Action LA, which is
sponsoring a series of fun, collaborative events in support of mental health.
“Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety” is a documentary that will be shared during our family movie night, designed to spark conversation and open up dialogue
around mental health. We invite you to join us and learn about the difference between “being anxious” and having an anxiety disorder, ways we can address stigma,
and how to engage in a full and happy life. The film includes interviews with kids, teens, experts, and parents. Following the screening there will be a Q&A session and group discussion lead by a mental health therapist.
Why Attend?
This film screening is offered through Palmdale Family Resource Center (FRC) and aims to help end the stigma that can be tied to mental health and accessing
services. Together, we’ll delve into our society’s most common mental health challenge.
This community-centered event will bring people together to learn and support one another as we build momentum around this important cause.
This outdoor screening event is designed to be kid friendly. Dinner inside our playground area will be served prior to the screening.
See You There!
This event takes place on Wednesday, May 12th from 5-8pm at the Palmdale Family Resource Center, 861 Auto Center Dr. Palmdale, CA 93551. We hope you’ll join
us for this family-friendly gathering in support of an important cause!
