Mississippi Low Income Child Care Initiative (MLICCI) is thrilled to invite you to our news conference on May 15, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. to announce a new MS Department of Human Services policy change that impacts the moms we serve. Starting May 15th, MDHS will no longer require single parents to comply with Child Support in order to be eligible for the state’s Child Care Payment Program (CCPP). The news conference will take place at Springboard to Opportunities, located at 854 N. Jefferson Street in Jackson, MS. MLICCI has been advocating for this policy change since 2004. MDHS filed the rule change with the Secretary of State’s Office in March 2023. This nearly twenty-years in the making policy change will have a tremendous impact for the single moms we serve, their children, child care providers, and the state of Mississippi.
