Description

In 1999, Benjamin Burnley and Jeremy Hummel formed a band in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Hollywood Records eventually signed them, and they released two albums: Saturate in 2002 and We Are Not Alone in 2004. However, it wasn't until their third album, Phobia, that Breaking Benjamin achieved mainstream success. Phobia reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and featured hit songs like The Diary of Jane and Breath. Following the release of Dear Agony, Burnley took an extended hiatus due to his numerous phobias and illnesses. When he returned, Burnley was the only remaining original member and had to assemble an entirely new lineup. Nonetheless, the band's popularity persisted, as Burnley's distinctive vocals and songwriting style continued to shine through in their music. Breaking Benjamin has sold over 7 million records in the US, with three platinum albums, two gold albums, two multi-platinum singles, two platinum singles, and five gold singles, in addition to achieving three No. 1 albums. Breaking Benjamin: They Will Not Bow Benjamin Burnley is at the core of Breaking Benjamin's identity. Through his music, Burnley has expressed his deepest pains and phobias. His many phobias, including a fear of flying, driving, and the dark, actually inspired the band's album Phobia. His fear of flying restricted the band's touring to the US and Canada until they finally took a ferry in 2016 for their first European tour. Burnley has openly discussed his struggles with alcoholism, revealing that he once attempted to drink himself to death. He has since chosen to live and has immortalized his journey to overcome alcoholism in the band's first album written and recorded while sober, 2009's Dear Agony. The album features tracks such as I Will Not Bow, Hopeless, and What Lies Beneath. How long is a usual Breaking Benjamin concert?
