Learn the basics of tapestry weaving in this beginner weaving workshop in beautiful Beacon, NY. During this class led by Courtney Salerno you'll create your own woven wall hanging and learn: How to set up warp thread on a loomWeaving stitches, including rya knots, tabby weave, pile weave and soumak weaveHow to add fringe to your designsHow to weave with fibers of various weights and texturesYou'll leave with a small wall hanging and the skills to create more on your own. Registration includes all the necessary materials, including a loom, warp thread, yarn and a dowel for hanging. Please note that weaving can be slow going. If you do not complete the project during class, you'll leave with the skills needed to finish on your own. All guests will receive a 15% discount to shop at Witch Hazel after the event. Note: A minimum of 6 guests are needed to hold this workshop. If we don't receive 6 sign-ups by 6/2/23, we will unfortunately need to cancel, and we will refund your ticket price.
