After earning his masters and doctorate in social work as well as his certification in Empathy and Emotional Intelligence Coaching, Dr. Lay founded two educational courses designed to help men and women master their emotions and build thriving futures for themselves. One is specifically designed for students, teachers, and professionals. The other is customized for new police officers. Having witnessed empathy coaching transform the destiny of countless individuals, Dr. Lay is thrilled for the opportunity to share his expertise in his first self-help book. Drawing on research-backed data, M.E.N. (Manage Emotions Naturally) with Empathy guides boys and men on how to employ emotional intelligence and empathy to grow into respectful, inclusive, and compassionate leaders. The book will be available on October 16, 2023, and will be followed by the release of H.E.R. (Healthy Emotional Regulation) and Empathy has No Rank books the following year. Apart from being a clinical therapist, Dr. Lay is also a proud father and husband, a patriot who loves his country, and a life-coach entrepreneur. He resides in San Antonio, Texas, where he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and daughter, mentoring as well as a social media influencer. Luu Do is a Department of Homeland Security Protective Security Advisor (PSA) assigned to the San Antonio, Texas District. Prior to the PSA Program, Luu spent eight years supporting DHS via an Interagency Agreement with the Department of Defense and the National Guard Bureau. In that capacity, he served as a subject matter expert for both infrastructure and physical security systems and has continuously contributed to the development, refinement, and execution of Critical Infrastructure assessments throughout the country. He directly supported the execution of hundreds of DHS threat and vulnerability assessments, ranging from Infrastructure Survey Tools (IST’s), Site Assistance Visits (SAV’s), Computer Based Assessment Tools (CBAT’s), and Infrastructure Survey Tools (IVP’s). With over 15 years of total service including 10 years on Active Duty, Luu brings extensive experience and training to the PSA Program in the fields of security, counterterrorism, and intelligence.
