The Foundation is named after Katherine Malone who passed away on June 4, 2021 due to complications from end stage renal failure (kidney failure). Our mission is to bring awareness to the importance of living organ donation. Kathy had waited four (4) years to receive an kidney from a deceased donor. The average wait time is over 5 years. As of March, 2023, there are over 107,000 people on the organ transplant waitlist. Sadly, 20 people die each day while awaiting a life-saving organ transplant and we add 144 people each day to the list.
