Description
Seminar Talk Title: Integrated Personal Healthcare – From the Viewpoint of TCM “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” is a classical statement anecdotally credited to Hippocrates. However, recent research strongly supports the therapeutic potential of lifestyle intervention and provides valuable insight into the complex and dynamic transition from disease to health. The ancient Chinese text Esoteric Scripture of the Yellow Emperor, believed to be written as early as 770 BC, has long been treated as fundamental doctrine for Chinese medicine and offers detailed descriptions on the use of food for maintaining one’s health. Following the presentation on this topic, presenters will lead a discussion into the YIN & YANG theory and how it can be applied to support our individual health, through creating and maintaining internal harmony. And finally, the presenters will demonstrate the use of acupressure, as well as other manual manipulation techniques, for maintaining a healthy day-to-day lifestyle.
