This is and event sponsored by Blue Moon Doula Services! Owner/Founder, Angelica Knight, is a Birth Doula and birthworker in the Greensboro/Triad Community. She is a yogi who teaches traditional and prenatal yoga, but also makes bengkeng belly binds for clients and other birthworkers across NC! The Art of Bengkeng BellyBinding is an ancient practice that promotes womb healing following childbirth. The uterus expands to great lengths to not only carry, but hold the child until it's time for the baby to transition earthside. Even after babies are born, the uterus still needs time to contract and heal properly. Bengkeng Bellybinding is a great option during immediate postpartum healing. There are also many benefits from using belly binds during menstruation prior to conception and during the prenatal period prior to delivery. In joining us for this event, not only will you be leaving with a custom bengkeng bellybind, but you will have the opportunity to partake in a class on learning how to tie it properly on your own belly, pregnant or not and start gaining the benefits from using it! Following the class bellybinding class, we will commence in hosting a 45 minute yoga session that is safe for all bodies: conceiving, pregnant, or postpartum. Tyeing the bellybind prior to the yoga session will take pressure off the back and the pelvis for our individuals with rounder stomachs, and will set necessary boundaries/limitations to people participating who are postpartum. This event is Sunday, May 28th at 10 am. **Time or location is subject to change due to weather or potentially high heat levels in the Summer. Please continue to check for updates in case time may shift and start earlier ** This event is not exclusive to pregnant people, but our doulas are welcome to come as well!
