Swim 1922 was created by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc and US Swimming to address the unfortunate truth that according to the CDC, approximately 10 people drown every day in the U.S.A. An even more startling fact is that 70 percent of African American children and 60 percent of Hispanic children in the U.S. do not know how to swim. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc, Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter is partnering with Queen City Dolphins and the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center to help educate youth on the importance of water safety. *All participants must complete Covid waiver prior to participating in the event. Participants are encouraged to bring bathing suits and towels. Children age 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the pool.
