Description
On this day in 1786 W. A Mozart's opera "Marriage of Figaro" premiered in Vienna with Mozart himself directing! The opera's libretto was written by L. D. Ponte (based on P. Beaumarchais' play "Marriage of Figaro"). Ponte had to change the original play as it was controversial and revolutionary back then. He had to make it more comic in order to please the European audiences and pass the censors. Enjoy this spectacular and spirited piece and have a great week ahead!
