Despite our opposition’s continued assault on our basic, fundamental rights, we (like our ancestors) continue to find ways to care for each other. And that’s worth celebrating. Join us Saturday, May 27th (Memorial Day weekend) at the André Cailloux Center on Bayou Road for a free block party! We’ll have food, drinks, and fun for the whole family! It’s been almost a year since the Dobbs decision shuttered Louisiana’s few remaining abortion clinics. Since the decision, we’ve helped hundreds of our neighbors cross state lines to get the abortion care they needed. As an organization rooted in the principles of reproductive justice, we know abortion access is just the beginning. We’re looking towards a future where we can all decide when or if to have children and we all live in thriving communities, rich with opportunity. They’ll be opportunities to learn more about LAAF’s work, hang with neighbors, and engage with organizations who are working to create the thriving, healthy world of our dreams. Louisiana Abortion Fund’s Bayou Block Party is an all-ages event for our community. Just like the world we’re looking towards, our block party has a place for everyone. We’ll have a bounce house for the kiddos, food, music, and giveaways (including condoms, emergency contraception, t-shirts, and more!). Is there a cost to attend? Louisiana Abortion Fund’s Block Party is free! There is no cost to attend.
