How a City Learned to Improve Its Schools by acclaimed educational researchers Anthony S. Bryk, Sharon Greenberg, Albert Bertani, Penny Sebring, Steven E. Tozer, and Timothy Knowles, tells the story of the extraordinary thirty-year school reform effort that changed the landscape of public education in Chicago. Join us on the evening of Tuesday, May 9 for a special conversation about this new book, the progress Chicago Public Schools has made in addressing educational inequality, and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the district and our city. Brykand and Greenberg will be joined by Dr. Janice Jackson, the CEO of Hope Chicago and former CEO of Chicago Public Schools, and the conversation will be moderated by Susie An, education reporter for WBEZ Chicago. This event is co-sponsored by the Crown Family School, UChicago Consortium on School Research. General Information In-person event.
