The Friends of the Broward County Library, Inc. is celebrating and recognizing its members at a Hats Off to Friends Awards Brunch on Sunday, May 21, 2023, 1:00pm. at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC); 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard (N.W. 6th Street); Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33311 The celebration begins in the foyer of the library where hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served, gift baskets raffled and the” best hat” winners recognized. The awards ceremony will convene in the auditorium with categories as follows: · The Julie Hunter Count on Me Award - presented to Evelyn Grooms in recognition for outstanding contributions given to the Friends of the Broward County Library while serving as president and Board member simultaneously for more than 20 years. · The Presidential Award – presented to Julie Mukamal and Hannah Hostyk in recognition for outstanding work in their respective chapters. · Five (5) Extraordinary Volunteer Awards – recipients to be announced Entertainment will be provided by Saxophonist, Michael Kennedy.
