Cyanotype Two-Day Workshop Negatives with Judy Pickett Saturday, May 20, 2023 11am-1pm Sunday, May 21, 2023 1pm-3pm Instructor: Judy Pickett Learn to create vintage-looking prints of your favorite pictures right from your own phone. In this two-day class you will recreate some of your favorite digital images into vintage-looking prints using the cyanotype process. On the first day you will learn to create your own negatives using an app on your phone and a printer. The next day we will practice in the sun to get the correct exposures and you will go home with several prints plus the negatives you made. Class will run from 11 -1 on Saturday and Sunday 1-3pm Class size is limited to 6 participants. $10 supply fee is payable to the teacher Judy Pickett is a local artist who combines cyanotype printmaking with encaustic painting. As a former teacher, Judy loves to teach others about her unique medium. “When I was introduced to the alternative photography method, known as cyanotype, I was hooked! Cyanotype uses photosensitive paper to develop an image without a camera. It creates beautiful blue and white images by laying an object or a negative onto the paper and exposing it in the sun. It's magic! “ Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request. Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit. Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare is not provided.
