Description

The workshop will occur on Wednesdays, May 17, 2023, through Wednesday, June 21, 2023. During this six-day workshop, you will engage in hands-on activities that cover the Foundations of Reading, (phonological awareness, concepts of print and alphabetic principles, phonics, word analysis, and fluency) and Reading Comprehension. Participants will take both parts of the test and engage in analysis of the practice test questions through independent reflection and active participation in discussion. The objective of the workshops is to prepare participants to apply their learning to successfully pass the Foundations of Reading Test. Individuals who participate in all 6 sessions of the workshop, complete a survey, and agree to send their FoRT scores to Urban Learning collaborative are eligible for reimbursement of the workshop cost & test registration cost. The session will occur on May 17, 24, 31, and June 7,14,and 21 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Summit Building in West Allis.
