Description

Need community service hours for school? Considering a career in the environmental field? Just want to meet new people and get outside? If any of these sound like you, make your summer a Summer of Service with Wildlands Trust! These free, flexible, one-day programs will equip high school students (ages 14-19) with the basic skills and knowledge that underpin all conservation work—all in a relaxed, introductory format. Come to just one or two programs, or, better yet, join them all! Students who come to three or more will receive Wildlands swag! Harvest the most out of your summer with our Farming program on Thursday, July 13! Join us at Bay End Farm and Old Field Pond Preserve in Bourne, where farm leaders and Wildlands staff will give you a hands-on introduction to organic farming. You’ll try your hand at harvesting garlic and gain a new appreciation of local agriculture! This will be the longest program of the summer, lasting from 9:45 am until about 3 pm. Snacks will be provided, but students should bring a bagged lunch. Questions? Contact Stewardship Coordinator Zoë Smiarowski at [email protected].
