Greetings! We are very excited to announce a day filled with trauma informed care trainings. The Illinois Collaboration on Youth is leading the trainings to address community violence and support community resiliency. This is a Free Event for Professionals with CEUs! This is an in-person event and will not be recorded. This day is sponsored by Winnebago County Trauma Informed Community and the Winnebago County Health Department. Day Schedule 8:30-9:00 AM: Registration Check In (Please register in Advance) Continental Breakfast (Lunch will not be provided) Narcan Training Opportunity: A drug overdose can occur at any time, in any place. The Winnebago County Health Department is offering a free, brief Naloxone training and Naloxone Kits for everyone interested. Join us during registration on 5/16 or contact Amanda at [email protected] to schedule a training at your workplace or organization.9:00 - 10:30 AM: First Training - Culture & Trauma Training Training Description: Trauma has context. Trauma's context oftentimes has cultural and historical roots. This training will explore the relationship between trauma and culture in group discussions and within focused topics. Participants will also learn about the ways power and oppression impacts trauma. Lastly, participants will learn about the resilience and protective factors to address trauma. 10:30 - 11:00 AM: Networking Opportunity & Coffee Break with light snacks provided (no lunch provided) 11:00 - 12:30 AM: Second Training - Vicarious Trauma Training Description: This training addresses trauma and its impact on those in caring professions. Participants will discuss the “caring traumas” and learn how to identify and address the signs and symptoms of each. Additionally, participants will contextualize these concepts by examining workplace traumas and coping mechanisms. Finally, participants will learn about ways to address trauma and promote individual and organizational self-care.12:30-1 PM: Closing & Training Day Ends Continuing Education Units (CEUs) & Training Certificate Information CEUs are available if individuals register. Attendees will only obtain 1 credit per training, a maximum of 3. Attendees are responsible to sign in to each training or risk their CEU. Attendees will not be granted CEUs for attending the same training topic. Training Certificates are only granted to those who attend the training topic and complete the training evaluation. CEUs will take 3 weeks to process after the training.
