Join Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity and Nicor Gas for the launch of Habitat Green Freedom, a new smart community in Aurora, Illinois- the first affordable, net zero neighborhood in the state. The neighborhood will have a total of 17 single-family net zero homes equipped with a combination of renewable, electric, and natural gas technologies. Eligible residents will enjoy freedom from expensive mortgages and high energy bills, while reducing their carbon footprint. Join us under our big tent for the groundbreaking ceremony, along with city and state officials, sponsors, area contractors, FVHH staff and homeowners, plus many others will be in attendance. Come early to network and enjoy breakfast at 9am, followed by the ceremony at 10am. The event will take place rain or shine! Please be aware that this will be an active construction site and appropriate shoes for weather and terrain should be worn. Parking for the event will be located across from the property at the Aurora University Spartan Athletic Park. We ask that no one walk along Jericho Rd. Shuttles will be available to bring guests to and from the event. Parking will not be allowed on Jericho Rd. or in surrounding subdivisions.
