Have you ever wondered what the inside of a fire truck looks like, or how crews operate the Electric Department Bucket truck? Maybe you are interested in what jobs are available with the City? During this fun and exciting event, the community is invited to see and touch some city vehicles and learn about jobs when the City of Gastonia hosts “Touch a Truck + Civics Day”. DATE: Saturday, May 13, 2023 TIME: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. LOCATION: Erwin Recreation Center, 913 N. Pryor Street, Gastonia “This event will be a fun time in for our youth to see and touch City equipment and learn about the type of jobs that are available to them as they think about careers,” said Cherie Jzar, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator. “It will also be a good time for adults to come and learn about current employment opportunities.” Here’s what to expect: Live truck demonstrations (fire trucks, bucket trucks, police cars, etc.) Food and drinks Free hair cuts Learn about job openings with the City
