The Starlight Motor Inn (c. 1961) is a historic, mid-century motel located on the west side of Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. Originally known as, “The Host of America Motel”, and later “The Star of America Motel” it was the South’s first modular-built motel. In 2020, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and reopened in 2023 after an extensive restoration that brought this gem back to life. It's recent restoration brings guests back in time, evoking great nostalgia while also being comfortable and convenient for the modern traveler.
