Water is arguably the #1 threat to the integrity of a building. Managing water and minimizing moisture is one of the easiest things you can do to care for your home long-term, and this workshop will teach you the basics. Whether you have a modern poured concrete foundation or an older foundation made from another material that requires special attention, the workshop will address the particular challenges of wicking water away from your home. We’ll cover basement ventilation and wall maintenance, managing gutters and downspouts, and landscape features like French drains, swales, and dry wells. This event takes place on Saturday, June 3 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Esek Hopkins House (97 Admiral Street). The cost* is on a sliding scale from $25 to $75. Advance registration is required.
