Mirrors have been part of the diviner’s toolbox since the time of the Mayans and Aztecs. Join Parlour resident diviner, Rissa Miller, to explore the history of scrying, including facets such as water, stone, and mirrors, as well as the dark superstitions they reflect back to us. Over the centuries, scryers have sat at the side of queens and kings, and shaped history. Once we’ve gazed deep into the lore and legends, participants will make a black scrying mirror of their own during the event. All guests will leave with the notes and tools to begin using it on their own, including suggested lighting and meditations to aid in the practice. All supplies are included, limited to 15 participants. Please note, success with scrying takes time, practice and patiences, and is not promised during the duration of this 2-hour class. Due to the nature of this programs's content, it is not recommended for audience members under the age of 18. Additionally, please take under advisement, some diviners do find scrying to be challenging or straining for their eyes. Rissa Miller is an editor, author, herbalist, seer, and storyteller. Her storytelling expertise stems from extensive research into the area of esoteric history, including ghosts, witchcraft, cryptids, and folklore. Rissa believes most the most enduring stories teach us not only about humanity's past, but also give reason to reflect on our own present beliefs and realities. Refunds for advance tickets will only be available until 72 hours before the event. At that time, all sales are final as food/beverage/project supplies will be purchased. If you find you cannot make it and it's past the 72-hour deadline, please give your ticket to a friend. Parking is on-street. Please give yourself ample time to park and walk to the event. Event is indoors and will go on in any weather. Weather would only shut event down if York City shuts down due to weather emergency.
