During these sessions attendees will understand the indicators of human trafficking and trauma bonds. Professionals will also learn techniques to improve their interviewing skills by using a victim centered and trauma informed approach. Attendees while also learn to recognize signs of Social Media Recruitment and how traffickers lure their victims on the internet through dangerous popular social media sites and apps. An overview of human trafficking task forces/coalitions in Florida will be discussed and guidance provided on how to participate in your local Human Trafficking Coalition/ Task Force. It is very Important for all members of the community that works with victims or high-risk children and adults to participated in local Human Trafficking Coalition/Task Force. The presentation will instruct the listener to better understand someone who has been trafficked. The presenter will lay out the commonalities between domestic abuse and human trafficking. She will teach the listener to recognize a trigger by providing examples of triggers and how they occur. She will share some of the "common responses" of HT survivors, read overadaptive survival skills, while interweaving her own experiences as a survivor of human trafficking. The presenter will also provide appropriate ways to respond to survivors when they are encountered so that the survivors are not retraumatized by good intentions.
