Description

The Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter of The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. advocates for black women and girls, promoting equity and leadership in the areas of health, education, public policy, and economic empowerment. To extend our health advocacy to the community, the Health Committee hosts an annual health fair, located in high traffic public areas such as malls and community centers, reaching the most vulnerable populations in Atlanta. The fair provides free services like health screenings and resources, while educating the public on health and wellness. The 2023 Annual Health Fair will feature the theme "Empowering Health: Advocating for Yourself & Your Community". This year's event will emphasize the importance of individuals taking an active role in their health and well-being while showcasing community vendor resources. The fair will offer comprehensive health screenings and incentives like gift cards, prize drawings and other giveaways. Interactive conversations with participants will teach self-advocacy skills like effective communication with healthcare providers, navigating the healthcare system, and advocating for personal health needs. Additionally, community vendors and our organization will share resources and information on health issues most affecting the community. Our goal is to encourage everyone in attendance to work together to create a healthier and more supportive advocating environment.
