Using an incredible slideshow featuring local photography, Ryan Bouchard and Emily Schmidt will explain the basics of wild mushroom science and safety, and the local in-season species that are considered "safe for beginners" to cook with. This class will show you inside a whole world of adventure that most people overlook. This lecture is the first part of a two-part series. Please note that foraging and collecting are restricted on Norman Bird Sanctuary property. FAQ: Free parking will be available in the main lot at the Norman Bird Sanctuary. This event will be held in Mabel's Studio; directional signage will be posted. Inclement weather policy: This event will be cancelled in unsafe weather conditions. In the case of cancellation, refunds will be issued through Eventbrite. There is no rain/snow date. Refund policy: Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged. Service animals are permitted. Norman Bird Sanctuary events are fundraisers in support of our mission to engage a community of stewards to preserve, protect and enjoy this 300-acre property and the ecosystems within and beyond its stone walls.
