PRINCETON, NJ – A Grade 6 class from Princeton Unified Middle School was "Zoom bombed" last week, with intruders using racial slurs and posting lewd drawing, the school district said Tuesday. In a letter to the school community, superintendent Barry Galasso said the intrusion was "unacceptable" and that it exposed students to "hateful language and images." "We have since learned that the link to the PUMS Zoom meeting was published externally via Twitter," said Galasso. At the time of the "Zoom bombing," Galasso said students were learning about "the need for empathy and kindness in the context of community citizenship." Princeton Public Schools is currently working with the Princeton Police department, Mercer County law enforcement and the technology department "to identify any unauthorized participants in the meetings," said Galasso. "We apologize to our students and their families for last week's breach of our community standards. Be assured that persons responsible and identified will be held accountable," he said.
