MANCHESTER, CT — The Town of Manchester has scheduled a virtual public informational meeting for the proposed project to construct an off-road, shared use path on Hartford Road and Bidwell Street. The meeting is slated for Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. Preliminary design has been completed and the project is slated for construction under the Connecticut Department of Transportation's Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program. The project includes construction of a 10-foot wide concrete shared use path on the south side of Hartford Road and the east side of Bidwell Street. The new path will connect to the existing Charter Oak Greenway on each end and will replace the only "on-road" portion of the Greenway in Manchester. The estimates cost is $835,000 with the state providing the full construction cost and the town adding design costs. The tentative schedules for the design and construction of this project will be discussed at the public informational meeting, officials said. Click here for information on joining the meeting.
