The Caribou Tufting and Porcupine Quill Sewing Workshop will be led by Koyukon Athabascan Culture Bearer Emma Hildebrand, she will teach participants how to create a hide barrette with caribou tufting and porcupine quill work. Emma Hildebrand was born and raised in Northway, Alaska and has been teaching workshops using moose hide, porcupine quills, dyed caribou hair, and beads for decades. Participants must agree to attend all 5 days of the workshop to enroll. The workshop will take place on May 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. TICKETS: Ages 16-24: Select the "Age 16-24: Caribou Tufting & Porcupine Quill Sewing" ticket type when registering.Ages 25 and above: Select "Age 25+: Caribou Tufting & Porcupine Quill Sewing" ticket type.Please ensure that you select the correct ticket type when registering. This free workshop will be held at the Alaska Native Heritage Center (ANHC). Materials will be provided. For more information, please contact Angie Demma at [email protected].
