Description

The Historic Harrisburg Association (HHA) will raise a toast in 2023 to the State Museum of Pennsylvania, dubbed by many as “Pennsylvania’s Smithsonian,” in recognition of a 50-year alliance that dates back to HHA’s founding at the Museum on February 22, 1973. The 2023 Preservation Celebration and “A Toast to the State Museum!” will take place at the State Museum on Sunday, May 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in multiple areas of the iconic Mid-century-modern museum. A gala reception for members, friends, and supports of HHA will begin in William Penn Memorial Hall with a celebratory champagne “Toast to the State Museum, the birthplace of Historic Harrisburg!”, recognizing the vast role that the State Museum of Pennsylvania has played in the cultural life of the Harrisburg community as well as in the educational enrichment of generations of school students and visitors from around the world. The reception will continue with stationed and butlered hors d’oeuvre creations by Grand Cru Hospitality and complimentary beverage (beer, wine, soft drinks) service in the adjoining Village Square exhibit area of Early American architecture. Attendees of “The Toast” will be able to visit all areas of the Museum in the hours leading up to the start of the event. The State Museum features exhibits on Pennsylvania’s industrial history, transportation history, ecology, geology, and the natural sciences. Registration is now available; please use Eventbrite to obtain Sponsorship, Host Committee or Patron participation, and Guest tickets. We hope to see you at our "Toast to the State Museum!"
