You've heard about Jackie Kennedy, but what about Ann Lowe? During this Summer Fun with FLOTUS program for children ages 5-12 we'll explore the life and style of boundary-breaking Black fashion designer Ann Lowe. Ann is best known for creating Jackie's wedding dress (an exquisite replica of which is on display at the First Ladies National Historic Site). But she also created dresses for starlets and fancy fashionistas across the map. During this interactive program, we'll read a picture book about her life called Fancy Party Dresses and create a bouquet of ribbon flowers that match some of her dress details. This is an in-person program, taking place at First Ladies National Historic Site. We can accommodate up to 25 children (parents or caregivers must on site and may tour the museum during the program).
