In 2022, the Cleveland Department of Public Health, Division of Air Quality held its first public forum in recognition of National Air Quality Awareness Week (AQAW). The forum, titled “Change is in the Air: A Community Conversation" brought together students, medical professionals and community environmental justice advocates to discuss a variety of topics. The Community Conversation will continue this year.
In recognition of AQAW, we will host the film “Unbreathable: The fight for Clean Air.” The film follows the evolution of the Clean Air Act and its impact on communities throughout the United States. It also features a segment on the plight of the health of residents living in “Cancer Alley, LA.” You are invited to join us to discuss this film and relevant regional air quality topics. A panel of local healthcare and community-based concerned citizens will lead the discussion. The audience is free to ask questions. Come bring your perspective on some of the local air quality issues. Light refreshments will be served.
