This class will cover how to pick the right rose for the right place - types of roses, their hardiness zone, microclimates, general rose characteristics/hardiness based on hybridizer/company, best planting practices, soil, pruning the different types of roses. Brenna is an American Rose Society Master Rosarian, Horticulture Judge and National ARS Rose Show Exhibitor. She is a member of the Denver, Colorado Springs and Pueblo local ARS Rose Societies. Brenna has been growing roses for over 20 years indifferent zones of the US: South New Jersey, San Antonio, TX, Albuquerque, NM, East Tennessee, Pueblo, CO and the Colorado Mountains. Currently, Brenna has over 115roses at her mountain garden located at 9,000 ft and she is eagerly awaiting the first bloom cycle of year towards the end of June/beginning of July. She has maintained multiple clients’ rose gardens, an estate rose garden and has worked at the rose garden of an East Coast Arboretum. For over four years, she was an integral part of a miniature and mini flora rose nursery in East Tennessee. She loves all types of roses and can be found when the weather is nice, rose shopping at local nurseries as well as those found along the way in her travels. Often, you will find her answering rose growing questions at nurseries and rose society events. When the weather is less desirable, she can be found thumbing through mail order rose catalogs, placing orders and thinking about where to place the next raised bed for all those new roses she ordered.
