*Once you register, you will receive the livestream link via email two days before the event* In this program, Sydney Zuiker, Safe Community Institute Director, Crime Stoppers Of Houston & Sheriff Deputy Jessica Leggett will discuss what can occur when people take drugs without knowing it’s contents. There will be discussion on the fentanyl crisis and how we can work to protect our family, friends, and children from laced drugs. Deputy Leggett survived a fentanyl overdose after being exposed to the drug, and will share her story. After their presentation, Dr. Alicia Kowalchuk from Baylor School of Medicine will show the audience how to administer Narcan to someone who has potentially overdosed from fentanyl exposure. Free kits will be available to in-person attendees after the event.
