Description

The Event Join us on either May 12 or May 13 to learn how to play Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition the fun, easy way. The first 5 people to register will win a D&D Starter Set. -- A lot of people put off learning how to play D&D because it's hard to know where to begin. Fear not -- this workshop demystifies the game and gives new players all the tools they need to immediately start playing with friends. Dungeon Master Tim will walk you through rules for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, including a broad presentation providing examples of game play. All attendees must be 12 years old or older. -- Dungeons & Dragons is a fundamentally social experience. A team of adventurers, known as a party, are immersed in a pseudo-medieval world of sword-and-sorcery run by the Dungeon Master, who narrates setting and events and adapts the emerging game to the players’ free actions and decisions. The world of the game is orally constructed and conjured in the imagination with the help of rule books, reference guides, charts, multifaceted dice, and maps. Rather than compete, players work together to coordinate their complementary skill sets to problem-solve and overcome diverse challenges. Their co-dependence translates into a sense of belonging and genuine social cohesion. -- This event is Pay What You Can -- Here’s what your Suggested Donation can do for the Indy Reads community: FREE - This ticket is for attendees that would like to attend this event and are unable to purchase a ticket. For the last 8 years, he has been a Dungeon Master (DM) running D&D 5e for multiple groups of players. During that time, he has introduced multiple players to the fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons, which has been one of the most approachable versions of the game.
