Dr. David Hanson, DDS, MD, has dedicated his life to the health and wellbeing of others. The Doc is partnering up with Pivot or Panic, a mental health focused brand, to be an agency of change with an improved approach to healing. Please join us for an evening filled with inspiration, community, cocktails, storytelling and more. The ‘Doc off the Clock’ podcast series is here to help you navigate the medical industry (both patients and practitioners) by discussing the stigma of fear and facing it head on. With the aid of Pivot or Panic, Dr Hanson’s mission is to bring awareness to the impact of mental health and the depth of the connection the brain has on the healing process. The Doc has paid his dues at universities, trauma centers, medical facilities, personal experience, and now truly sees the importance of taking it further than just talking to other medical professionals, he’s here to talk to the people...YOU. He is here to answer the questions, share the realities and hopefully open a door that has been previously shut. As a patient of Dr. Hanson’s, I, Eliza Fisher, have experienced his impact first hand. On May 12th, 2020 I was hit in the face with a laptop computer and ended up in the trauma bay at Advocate Masonic, where the Doc has been an attending physician and a member of the trauma team since 2001. It was his first trauma call during the pandemic, where heightened hospital protocols created inconveniences for both practitioners and patients. During such an unprecedented time, the Doc did not waiver and I will always remember his attentiveness. I used to believe that his competence and kindness saved my life, and now I am fully aware that it simply restarted it. He gave me a chance to live, shine, and return that very gift back to others every day.
