Whale, whale, whale, look what we have here.It's time to hit the boulders at Movement Plano on May 20th for Spring Open 2023!This is a 2-wave redpoint bouldering competition with an exciting final - complete with beer, food, and games for all. The top 5 Elite AND Advanced women, male, and non-binary will compete in our onsight finals round! Get out your beach towels and board shorts as the theme is... a day at the beach! * Please pay attention to your time slot when registering. Wave 1: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm (Check-in 10:00 am)Wave 2: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm (Check-in 3:00 pm)Each wave has 3 hours to climb and log sends into KAYA. The onsight final will take place around 8:00 pm - show up then and spectating is free/open to anyone! Competitor tickets are $40 and spectators are $25. You must be 16+ to compete. Your ticket provides you with food & drinks (ID must be presented) at the end of each wave. Finalists will be called at ~7:20 pm, so all Elite climbers should be present at that time. *Please note all Legacy Summit gyms still require shirts (sport bras count as shirts). Category Breakdown: Female, Male, Non-Binary Beginner: VB - V2 (White, Green and Yellow) Intermediate: V2 - V4 (Red and Blue) Advanced: V5 - V8 (Orange and Purple) Elite: V8+ (Pink and Black) Prizes: Men, Woman, and Non-binary are in separate categories Elite category (Cash prize): 1st prize - $2002nd place - $1503rd place - $75Advanced category (Cash prize): 1st prize - $100 2nd prize - $75 3rd prize - $50 All other categories ( Gift Card prize): 1st place - $252nd place - $103rd place - $5Here's how our redpoint competition will work: • You will be able to climb as many boulder problems as you want as many times as you want. • Each boulder problem will have a point value to it. • Your top five boulder problems count as your total score. There will be no flash bonus. • Honor system, so please no cheating! • We will be using the KAYA app, so make sure you have it installed and set-up before the competition!
