ABOUT ALIVE AFTER FIVE— Once a month, the KMA is transformed, as the world-class art museum becomes a center of entertainment, a melding of art, music, and nightlife. AA5 showcases incredible, diverse musical talent from all over the Southeastern United States. Kick off your weekend with musicians and entertainers as they take the stage with a backdrop of awe-inspiring art from East Tennessee and beyond. Adding to the flavor of the Alive After Five experience, each concert has food available from various food vendors, plus cash bars! ABOUT JUSTICE MICHAEL— Justice makes his drum set seem like a natural extension of his limbs. When he takes the stage, it's obvious that he feels at home behind the kit. Justice is known for his effortless deep pocket, mixed with his own creative flare that hypnotizes the crowd. When he plays, it's as simple as walking and talking to Justice. In his own words, “I just play it.” Twenty-two-year-old Justice graduated from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music with a Bachelor's degree in Music. His major was Musicianship, Artistry Development, and Entrepreneurship (M.A.D.E.) with a minor in Music Business and Entertainment Industry. Justice has studied under world-renowned drummers Sonny Emory, Dafnis Prieto, David Chiverton, Steve Rucker, and others. As a youngster, Justice was privileged to perform on the stage of the world-famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY., where he won Amateur Night at the Apollo on three separate occasions. Justice is also band leader – and can be seen regularly performing his ensemble, Anonymous DaBand. They've shared the stage and opened for jazz music superstars, including Najee, Chrisette Michele, Pieces of a Dream, Bobby Caldwell, Lalah Hathaway and many more. Justice and his band were selected to perform at the first-ever Musicology Battle of the Bands at Prince's former home and studio, Paisley Park in Minneapolis. www.justicemichaelmusic.com EVENT DETAILS: Doors open at 5:30pm.
