For questions: [email protected] DCDEE Contact Hours: 2 (handwashing module = 1 hour, sanitation module = 1 hour)Infectious disease is a precursor for the Stay Health, Stay Clean training modules and will not count towards a credit hour. Hand washing module: Participants will learn about infectious disease and how it is spread. They will be taught the consequences of inadequate handwashing, how to wash hands and assist children to wash hands and when adults and children must wash hands in child care. Participants will learn common sources of violations and issues to avoid.Sanitation module: Participants will learn the difference between cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting. They will know how to clean, sanitize and disinfect and when to clean common items in child care including: sleep areas, play areas, food areas, handwashing sinks, toileting and diapering areas, and keeping cleaning supplies, doorknobs, water fountains, floors and cubbies clean. Participants will learn common sources of violations and issues to avoid.Location Details: Training will be hosted at in the Community Classroom at Gaston County Health Department, 991 West Hudson Boulevard, Gastonia, NC 28052. Park and enter at the front entrance (off of Hudson Blvd., not Henderson Street) Enter through the front entrance sliding doors and turn right. Trainings will be hosted in the first room on the right.
