Not a day goes by that we do not hear about the millions of Americans struggling with a mental health issue—studies show that 1 in 5 U.S. adults and 1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year. Jewish Family Service of Greater Harrisburg (JFS) has been at the forefront of serving the mental health needs of all members of the Greater Harrisburg community. Last year, JFS provided 5,550 mental health counseling sessions last year to children, teens, families, and seniors, an increase of 37% over the prior year. We will be joined by mental health therapist and New York Bestselling Author of "Daughter of Auschwitz", Tova Friedman. Tova, who entered the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp at the age of five, is one of the youngest children documented to have survived the Nazi concentration camp. Tova went on to build a life as a leading mental health therapist in the tri-state area and became a strong advocate to support expanding access to mental health services. She is also a passionate spokesperson against antisemitism and prejudice. Tova will inspire everyone with her enduring message on the power of resilience and the ability for all of us to overcome trauma and adversity. Please join us at the Jewish Community Center here in beautiful Harrisburg, PA, while we enjoy our lunch and learn more about what we can do as a community to provide healing through quality mental health and ways that we can combat all forms of racism and antisemitism. I release JFS, its officers, directors, agents, employees, independent contractors, licensees and assignees (including photographers), from all claims that I may have or might have, for any cause of action arising out of taking and/or use of the photographs and/or any sound/image recordings, and/or description of the same, be it blurring, distorting, alteration, optical illusion, or use of composite form whether intentional or otherwise, that may occur or be produced in taking of the photographs, or any processing tending toward the completion of the finished product, unless it can be shown that they and the publication thereof were maliciously caused, produced, and published solely for the purpose of subjecting me to conspicuous ridicule, scandal, reproach, scorn, and indignity. I agree that JFS owns the copyright (or may apply for copyright) in these photographs and other works and creations, and I hereby waive any claims I may have based on any usage of the photographs or works derived there from in any form, may it be printed, projected, televised, or transmitted via the web, and/or at any time, be it in the present or in the future, including, but not limited to claims for either invasions of privacy or libel. I am of full age and competent to agree to this release. I agree that this release shall be binding on me, my legal representatives, heirs, and assigns. I have read this release and I am fully familiar with its contents. COVID Health & Safety PolicyBy attending this event, I agree to participate in and abide by all safety protocols implemented on site. This may include up to (but not limited to): wearing masks in public spaces, practicing social distancing, providing proof of vaccination. I agree NOT to attend the event in person if I am experiencing or exhibiting any COVID-19 related symptoms as outlined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), such as fever, dry cough, or shortness of breath. I agree NOT to attend the event if I have become recently exposed to a person with a positive and confirmed case of COVID-19w or if I have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19 within the past 5 days. By purchasing tickets for the event, I expressly agree to adhere to any and all COVID-19 protocols implemented by JFS, any facilities, or venues at which the event is to be held, or any third-party organizations providing services. Agreement by you to comply with applicable COVID-19 protocols is a condition of attending this event. I acknowledge the contagious and evolving nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to the virus and become infected as a result of my attendance. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any expense, liability, illness, injury, disability, or death related to testing positive for the virus during or after the event. I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, or hold harmless JFS from all claims arising out of COVID-19. I understand and agree to this release of liability includes any claims towards JFS, as well as event personnel or representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurrence exists before, during, or after attendance and participation at the event.
