Join the Placecraft team for our first BlocParty of 2023! Come make StraBlocs™ with us! Picture a gathering with friends and family: you chat, listen to music, enjoy good food and drink. Multiple generations gathering to spend time working with local straw and clay, getting dirty and getting exercise. It's a neighborhood BlocParty! And there's a byproduct from all this joy -- insulation for our homes. That's the StraBloc™ vision -- pairing community bonding and ecological action to home building. Expect to get clayey. The liquid clay that coats the straw is safe to touch and easy to wash, but please be prepared to take some home on your shoes and clothing. To find us, drive to the end of Baltimore Avenue, PARK IN CATHEDRAL PARK BOAT RAMP. Our Blockery is located within Green Anchors; its entrance is 200ft north of the boat ramp lot, parallel to the tracks. Take a left into the Green Anchors complex followed by the first right and you’ll see our shop! The morning shift from 10AM-2PM includes breath and movement work with Sweethome Teacup, introduction to StraBlocs™, bloc making and lunch (vegetarian and GF options) Sign up and come give it a try while getting to know like-minded folks!
