I will provide more info as I confirm it.Tickets will need to be purchased on Eventbrite- No $ is allowed to be collected on library property, so the Tulsa County Component will absorb the Eventbrite fees. 1st session: Tulsa Health Department Topic- Opioids: "Medication Safety Strategies to Reduce Substance & Prescription Drug Abuse in Tulsa" This will cover docs' required Opioid CE! Topic- Opioids. Presentation title coming soon. 2nd session: Alzheimer's Association. Two presentations- "Understanding Alzheimer's & Dementia" & "Effective Communication Strategies." I thought these 2 topics would be the most beneficial for our profession- we all need to know how to effectively communicate! 3rd session: TSHA- a non-profit serving deaf & hard of hearing people. Presentation title coming soon. We will learn the legality/rights of this community, the services TSHA offers, & the 2nd half of this session will be learning dental & medical ASL (American Sign Language). We will be meeting in the Aaronson Auditorium of the Tulsa Central Library: 400 Civic Center near downtown Tulsa. This is not in the heart of downtown, so will not be difficult to navigate with the downtown one-way streets, but still close enough to be easily accessed to the entire Component, being directly off of Riverside & both highways 75 & 244. Please do not arrive prior to 9:45 AM- I am responsible for setting up all the tables, chairs, food, etc & the library does not open until 9 AM. Breakfast will be available starting at 9:45 AM; CE time begins promptly at 10 AM. Lunch (to be selected at check-out) will be catered from my friends at Sandos Rockin' Deli: 1. Turkey & provolone with arugula, pickled onion, tomato, cucumber, ranch, & bacon bits. 2. Italian Sub with salami, pastrami, ham, provolone, lettuce, red pepper relish, red wine vinaigrette, tomato, pesto aioli, & red onions. 3. Roast beef with white cheddar, pickled red onions, & bbq sauce. Each option comes with 1 side (available day of) & a cookie. Each ticket sale will provide a $10 donation to D-Dent, which provides dental services for the underserved & Veterans. https://www.d-dentok.org/ Cost: CE is free for Tulsa County Component members & students. There will be a small fee to cover refreshments & the donation. There is also an option for you to invite your non-dental friends. Non-Tulsa County Component members & docs- cost of CE + refreshments + donation. No refund for cost of refreshments or donation 2 weeks prior to event. Parking: I will update soon.
